Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon there will arise in my Ummah Dajjal and liars, they will narrate to you new ahadith which neither you nor your forefathers have heard, so beware of them, lest they lead you into tribulation."

Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon from this pulpit: "O people! Then Abu Musa said: "This companion of yours is either one who remembers (the ahadith) or one who will be destroyed. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave us his final advice, saying: 'Hold fast to the Book of Allah, and soon you will return to a people who will be eager to hear my ahadith. So whoever attributes to me something I did not say, let him prepare his abode in the Fire. And whoever has memorized some of my ahadith, let him narrate them.'"
