Another section on being content with the divine decree and its virtue
Hadith 194
عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((مِنْ سَعَادَةِ ابْنِ آدَمَ اسْتِخَارَتُهُ اللَّهَ، وَمِنْ سَعَادَةِ ابْنِ آدَمَ رِضَاهُ بِمَا قَضَاهُ اللَّهُ، وَمِنْ شِقْوَةِ ابْنِ آدَمَ تَرْكُهُ اسْتِخَارَةَ اللَّهِ، وَمِنْ شِقْوَةِ ابْنِ آدَمَ سَخَطُهُ بِمَا قَضَاهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “It is from the good fortune of the son of Adam that he seeks goodness from Allah Almighty, and it is also from the good fortune of the son of Adam that he is pleased with the decision of Allah Almighty. And it is from the misfortune of the son of Adam that he does not seek goodness from Allah Almighty, and it is also from his wretchedness that he is displeased with the decision of Allah Almighty.”
Hadith 195
عَنْ صُهَيْبِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((عَجِبْتُ مِنْ قَضَاءِ اللَّهِ لِلْمُؤْمِنِ، إِنَّ أَمْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِ كُلَّهُ خَيْرٌ وَلَيْسَ ذَلِكَ إِلَّا لِلْمُؤْمِنِ، إِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ سَرَّاءُ فَشَكَرَ كَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُ، وَإِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ ضَرَّاءُ فَصَبَرَ كَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُ))
Sayyiduna Suhaib bin Sinan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am amazed at the affair of the believer, for verily all of his affair is good, and this (honor) is for no one except the believer. If something pleasing befalls him and he is grateful, then that is better for him; and if something harmful befalls him and he is patient, then that is better for him."
Hadith 196
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((عَجَبًا لِلْمُؤْمِنِ لَا يَقْضِي اللَّهُ شَيْئًا إِلَّا كَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Wondrous is the case of the believer; whatever decision Allah makes for him, there is good in it for him."
