Hadith 9981

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, Allah Almighty has disliked three things for you: idle talk, excessive questioning, and wasting wealth. And His Messenger has declared three things forbidden for you: burying daughters alive, disobeying mothers, and withholding and begging.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … “Qeel wa Qal” (idle talk): What is meant by this is to speak excessively and to narrate people’s statements without verification.

Asking excessively: Its meaning is to ask people for wealth and possessions, or to inquire about unnecessary issues and people’s personal matters.

Nowadays, under the pretext of casual conversation, these very two things are made the subject of discussion.

Withholding and asking: What is meant by this is that a person refrains from spending on things where spending is obligatory for him, and asks people for things in which he has no right.
