حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي لَيْثٍ قَالَ أَشْهَدُ عَلَى عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ أَوْ قَالَ عِمْرَانُ أَشْهَدُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنِ الْحَنَاتِمِ أَوْ قَالَ الْحَنْتَمِ وَفِي لَفْظٍ عَنِ الشُّرْبِ فِي الْحَنَاتِمِ وَخَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْحَرِيرِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: I bear witness to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that he, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade drinking from green-colored pitchers, wearing gold rings, and (wearing) silk.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … At the time of the prohibition of wine, the use of green-colored pitchers and other vessels was temporarily forbidden; later, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam permitted the use of such vessels.
