It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man was wounded during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He was ordered to perform ghusl (ritual bath) due to janabah (state of major ritual impurity), and he died as a result of that ghusl. When this matter reached the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "The people have killed him; may Allah destroy them. Is not the cure for ignorance to ask a question?"
