عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ شَرُّ مَا فِي رَجُلٍ شُحٌّ هَالِعٌ وَجُبْنٌ خَالِعٌ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Severe miserliness and extreme cowardice are the worst traits found in a person.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Miserliness and cowardice are lowly traits that indicate a person's baseness; such qualities disgrace those who desire the world both in this world and, in the Hereafter, they will also be deprived of Allah’s mercy.
