Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said from the pulpit: The greatest verse of poetry ever spoken by the Arabs is: "Ala kullu shay'in ma khala Allah batil" (Be aware! Everything besides Allah Almighty is false). Umayyah bin Abi Salt was close to becoming a Muslim.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … By "batil" (falsehood) is meant that which is perishable. This verse is in accordance with the statement of Allah Ta'ala: {کُلُّمَنْعَلَیْھَافَانٍوَّیَبْقٰیوَجْہُرَبِّکَذُوالْجَلٰلِوَالْاِکْرَامِ۔} … "Everyone upon it (the earth) will perish. And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor." (Surah Ar-Rahman: 26, 27)
