Hadith 9928

Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I tell you about the worst among you? They are those who indulge in idle talk and twist their mouths while speaking. And shall I tell you about the best among you? They are those who are the best in character among you."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In this hadith, encouragement towards good character is given, and there is an emphasis on avoiding unnecessary, careless, and affected speech, as well as refraining from using such speech to impose awe or superiority over others. In other words, speaking less and conversing with simplicity is preferred, whereas speaking excessively—and that too with haste, sharpness, and affectation in order to assert dominance over others—is highly disliked.
