It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No people go astray after having been guided except that they begin to argue. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: And they said, "Are our gods better, or is he?" They did not say this to you except for the sake of argument. In fact, they are a quarrelsome people. (Surah Az-Zukhruf: 58)
