Hadith 9918

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَمْعَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ خَطَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ وَعَظَهُمْ فِي ضِحْكِهِمْ مِنَ الضَّرْطَةِ فَقَالَ عَلَامَ يَضْحَكُ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى مَا يَفْعَلُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zam’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon and then admonished the people about laughing at passing wind, and said: Why does one of you laugh at something which he himself does?
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Especially when someone unintentionally passes wind, we should adopt such seriousness in the gathering that it appears as if we are completely unaware of this occurrence, so that the concerned person does not feel embarrassed.
