(Second chain) It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: I began to imitate a man in front of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I do not like to imitate anyone, even if I were to be given a great deal in exchange for it. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Indeed, Safiyyah is a woman of short stature. Upon hearing this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You have said such a thing that if it were mixed with the water of the sea, it would mix with it (i.e., the filth of the statement would overpower and spoil the water of the sea).

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The meaning of this hadith is that Sayyidah Aisha radi Allahu anha intended to imitate a woman in a disparaging manner. The purport of the reply of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is that he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam does not derive any pleasure from mentioning someone’s faults or from imitating someone’s action or speech in a way that belittles them.
Imam Nawawi said: In this hadith, backbiting (ghibah) is reproved most severely; to my knowledge, there is no other hadith in which the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam condemned it to such an extent.
