Hadith 9871

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ صَمَتَ نَجَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Whoever remained silent, attained salvation.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From the ahadith of the previous chapter, and especially from hadith number (9866), one can gauge the dangers of the tongue. The solution to avoiding these dangers is that the tongue should be used for matters of goodness; otherwise, at the very least, one should remain silent.
