Narrated by Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you see that a man is being given sustenance in this world despite his evildoings, then (understand that) he is being given respite by Allah Almighty, as mentioned in this verse: "But when they forgot that whereof they had been reminded, We opened unto them the gates of all things till, even as they were rejoicing in that which they were given, We seized them suddenly, and lo! they were dumbfounded." (Surah Al-An'am: 44).

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Every Muslim should examine his way of life in the light of this hadith, lest the valuable blessings of Allah Ta'ala become causes of calamity for him. The mere possession of wealth and riches does not indicate the pleasure of Allah Ta'ala; rather, it is through righteous deeds (a'mal salihah) that this can be determined.
