It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), women in postnatal bleeding would sit for forty days or forty nights after giving birth, and we used to apply wars herb abundantly on our faces because of freckles.
