It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) came to a group of people who were handing over a naked sword to each other. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah curse the person who does this. Did I not forbid you from doing so? Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person draws a sword and looks at it, and then wants to hand it over to another, he should cover it with something before giving it.
