Hadith 9781

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ((لَا هِجْرَةَ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ فَمَنْ هَجَرَ أَخَاهُ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ فَمَاتَ دَخَلَ النَّارَ))
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no allowance for severing ties for more than three days; whoever severs ties with his brother for more than three days and then dies, he will enter the Fire.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Taking human emotions into consideration, the warning has been restricted to three days, because it is possible that due to the intensity of anger, a person may not be ready to reconcile quickly. In any case, there is no allowance for estrangement beyond three days.
