It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), two men stated their lineage; one said: "I am so-and-so, son of so-and-so, so who are you? May your mother not remain!" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In the time of Musa (peace be upon him), two men stated their lineage in the same way." Then he mentioned it similar to the hadith of Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him).
