بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي التَّرْهِيبِ مِنَ الرَّيَاءِ وَهُوَ الشَّرْكُ الْخَفِيُّ نَعُوْذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْهُChapter on what has been narrated regarding warning against showing off, which is hidden shirk; we seek refuge with Allah from it
Hadith 9711

عَنْ أَبِي هِنْدٍ الدَّارِيِّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ ((مَنْ قَامَ مَقَامَ رِيَاءٍ وَسُمْعَةٍ رَاءَى اللَّهُ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَسَمَّعَ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hind Dari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever stands at the place of showing off and seeking fame, Allah Almighty will expose him on the Day of Resurrection and will make him well-known.
