It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: By Allah! That man cannot be a believer, by Allah! That man cannot possess faith, by Allah! That person cannot be a true believer. The people asked: O Messenger of Allah! Who is he? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The neighbor whose neighbors are not safe from his evils. The people asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by "bawa'iq"? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: His evil.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … A righteous neighbor is a great blessing from Allah Ta’ala; not only does a person attain mental peace through him, but his honor is also safeguarded, because a righteous neighbor is also a guardian for other neighbors. In contrast, the harms and misfortunes of an evil neighbor are evident; one should seek refuge with Allah Ta’ala from such a neighbor.
Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah, in accordance with the purport of this hadith, has narrated this report from Sayyiduna Uqbah ibn Amir radi Allahu anhu, that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to supplicate: “Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min yawmi’s-su’, wa min laylati’s-su’, wa min sa’ati’s-su’, wa min sahib as-su’, wa min jari’s-su’ fi dari’l-muqam.” … O Allah! I seek refuge with You from an evil day, from an evil night, from an evil hour, from an evil companion, and from an evil neighbor in a permanent residence. (Sahihah: under 1443.
