Hadith 9696

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Kinship is a branch of the Most Merciful. On the Day of Resurrection, it will come and say: O my Lord! I was cut off, O my Lord! I was wronged, O my Lord! I was treated badly. Then Allah Almighty will reply to it: Will you not be pleased if I join with the one who joined you, and I cut off the one who cut you off?

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Allahu Akbar, how severe is the warning! Severing ties of kinship (qat‘ al-rahm) is itself a crime, and it is also an obstacle to the acceptance of other righteous deeds.
