Hadith 9672

Ali bin Khalid says that Abu Umamah Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by Khalid bin Yazid bin Muawiyah. He asked him about the gentlest words he had heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Every one of you will enter Paradise, except the one who rebelled against Allah in the way a camel bolts from its owner.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … To abandon the obligations and duties prescribed by Allah Ta’ala, and to commit the prohibited and forbidden acts, is called rebellion and defiance. If a camel, after eating from its owner, begins to act unruly right in front of him, everyone knows what remedy is applied in such a case. Similarly, it is clear to all what fate befalls a child who crosses out the plans of his honorable and well-wishing father. The matter with Allah Ta’ala is the same: whoever turns away from His laws will have to bear the punishment for this crime, but when the time for punishment arrives, regret, remorse, and longing at that time will be of no benefit.

Sayyiduna ‘Irbaad bin Sariyah radi Allahu anhu narrates that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “… Indeed, the believer is like a bridled camel; wherever he is led, he submits and follows.” (Ibn Majah) … The example of the believer is like that of a camel with a nose-ring (nikil); when its bridle is held and it is led forward, it obediently follows behind.
