Hadith 9659

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Information is not like witnessing. When Allah Almighty informed Musa (peace be upon him) that his people had done such and such with the calf, he did not throw down the tablets. But when he saw what his people had done, then he cast down the tablets and they broke."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Whether anyone accepts it or not, it is a fact that every human being perceives differences in seeing and hearing. How exalted a prophet Ibrahim (alayhis salam) was—we cannot even estimate what the quality and quantity of his faith and conviction would have been. Yet even he made this request to Allah Ta’ala: how does He give life to the dead? And when Ibrahim (alayhis salam) said, “My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead.” He (Allah) said, “Do you not believe?” He said, “Yes, but [I ask] so that my heart may be at ease.” He (Allah) said, “Then take four birds and make them familiar to you, then place a part of them on every mountain, then call them; they will come to you in haste. And know that indeed Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.” (Surah al-Baqarah: 260)
