عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا اسْتَرَاثَ الْخَبَرَ تَمَثَّلَ فِيهِ بِبَيْتِ طَرَفَةَ ((وَيَأْتِيكَ بِالْأَخْبَارِ مَنْ لَمْ تُزَوِّدْ))
Narrated by Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she states that when news was delayed, you would recite this verse of Tarafah (bin Abd Bakri), the poet: "The one on whom you have spent nothing will bring the news."
