It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked: O Messenger of Allah! Which is the best deed? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: To have faith in Allah, to affirm it, to strive in the way of Allah, and Hajj Mabroor. The man said: O Messenger of Allah! You have mentioned many things. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then speak gently, feed others, forgive, and have good character. The man said: I only want one word. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Go, and protect yourself from having bad thoughts about Allah.
