Narrated from Sayyiduna Khuraim bin Fatik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Deeds are six and people are four. Two are obligatory, two are equal, one good deed is tenfold, and one good deed is seven hundredfold. The two obligatory are these: Whoever dies in such a state that he does not associate partners with Allah, will enter Paradise; and whoever dies in such a state that he associates partners with Allah, will enter Hell. The two equal are these: Whoever intends to do a good deed so much that his heart understands it and Allah knows it, one good deed will be written for him; and whoever commits an evil deed, only one evil deed will be written for him. Whoever does a good deed, its reward will be tenfold; whoever spends in the way of Allah and does a good deed, its reward will be seven hundredfold. As for the matter of people: Whoever is given abundance in this world, will have constriction in the Hereafter; whoever is given constriction in this world, will have abundance in the Hereafter; and some are such that abundance will be chosen for them in both this world and the Hereafter.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In the last sentence, the mentioned "expanse" refers to wealth, property, and the like, with which the rights prescribed by the Shari‘ah were not fulfilled. Similarly, if a person is afflicted with hardship in this world, he should fulfill the requirements of the Shari‘ah in this trial.

In the last sentence (ama an-nas …), four categories of people are described:

1. Those who are wealthy but were negligent in fulfilling its rights; for them, there will be hardship in the Hereafter.
2. Those who were financially constrained in this world, but for them there will be abundance in the Hereafter, because despite being financially destitute, they were obedient to Allah, the Exalted.
3. Those who were poor and needy in this world and disobedient to Allah; due to their disobedience, there will be hardship for them in the Hereafter.
4. Those who were wealthy in this world and obedient to Allah and true Muslims; for them, there will be nothing but abundance in the Hereafter.
