Hadith 9607

It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: Whoever is granted gentleness, has been bestowed with goodness and well-being of this world and the Hereafter. And acts of goodness such as maintaining family ties, good character, and treating neighbors well, populate homes (and tribes) and increase lifespans.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … There are two meanings to the increase in lifespan: (1) The lifespan is actually extended, which is referred to as Allah Ta'ala’s contingent decree (mu‘allaq taqdeer). (2) The quantity of lifespan is not increased, but such blessing (barakah) is placed in it, and every aspect of the life of the one who maintains family ties (silat ar-rahm) becomes so full of benefits that, in their short lives, they achieve those things which others cannot accomplish even in long lifespans.
