Hadith 9600

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded me to do three things and forbade me from three things. He (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded me to perform the Duha prayer every day, to perform the Witr prayer before sleeping, and to fast three days every month. And he forbade me from pecking like a rooster, sitting like a dog (in a gathering), and turning here and there like a fox (in prayer).

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … What is meant by pecking like a rooster is to perform prostrations (sujood) hastily and rapidly.

Sitting like a dog refers to this posture: raising the shins and thighs upright, sitting on the buttocks, and placing the hands on the ground. This is called *iq’a*.

The six matters mentioned in this hadith are established by other ahadith as well.
