وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَرِهَ لَكُمْ ثَلَاثًا وَرَضِيَ لَكُمْ ثَلَاثًا رَضِيَ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَعْبُدُوهُ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا وَأَنْ تَعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَأَنْ تَنْصَحُوا لِوُلَاةِ الْأَمْرِ وَكَرِهَ لَكُمْ قِيلَ وَقَالَ وَإِضَاعَةَ الْمَالِ وَكَثْرَةَ السُّؤَالِ
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Verily, Allah Almighty has disliked three things for you and liked three things. He has liked for you that you worship Him, do not associate anything with Him, all of you hold fast to the rope of Allah, and that you show goodwill to your leaders. And He has disliked for you: idle talk, wasting wealth, and asking too many questions.

Benefits: … Sincerity towards the rulers is that they are obeyed in matters of truth and that rebellion is not made against them.
What is meant by “qeel wa qal” is taking interest in people’s stories, incidents, and news, and speaking about them without investigation, while there is no beneficial matter involved—everything is idle and purposeless talk. Nowadays, most people waste their time in such useless gatherings.
The way of wasting wealth is to spend it in unlawful (non-shar‘i) ways and in acts of disobedience. Even spending excessively and with affectation in permissible (lawful) matters is included in this.
What is meant by asking questions is to ask about religious matters without need or necessity, rather out of affectation. The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) had prohibited such questions during his blessed era. Asking people for their wealth is also included in this.
