It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The strong believer is better, more virtuous, and more beloved to Allah Almighty than the weak believer, though there is goodness in each of them. Be eager for that which benefits you and do not become helpless. If any matter overcomes you, then say: This is the decree of Allah, and whatever He wills, He does. And avoid saying "if," for "if" opens the work of Satan.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … A strong believer is able to fulfill all the pillars and injunctions of Islam as they ought to be fulfilled, such as jihad, Hajj, earning a livelihood, etc., whereas a weak believer has to act upon dispensations. Nevertheless, there is goodness in both, because both obey Allah Almighty according to their abilities. Health and strength are beneficial for a Muslim only when he is making use of them.
For anything that is beneficial for religion and worldly life, and its attainment is possible for the servant, then every possible effort should be made for it, and one should not simply sit at home leaving the matter to the will of Allah Almighty. It is true in its own place that only what Allah wills will happen, but it is this very Pure Being who has commanded us to strive to attain beneficial things.
The use of "if" (law) indicates discontent with the decree of Allah Almighty; if, after utilizing the means, harm occurs, then one should be patient over it and fulfill the requirements of patience related to it.
