عَنْ سَمُرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْحَسَبُ الْمَالُ وَالْكَرَمُ التَّقْوَى
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Wealth is (the basis of) lineage, and nobility is piety.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Among people, the thing due to which a person's value and status increase is wealth, but with Allah, the thing that grants greatness is taqwa (piety, God-consciousness).
