Hadith 9511

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Harmalah Anbari (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Advise me. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Fear Allah, and when you are sitting in a gathering and are about to leave it, but if you hear them saying things that please you, then remain seated with them, and when you hear them saying things that you dislike, then leave that gathering.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … One should not leave a gathering of goodness without a valid excuse, so that a person is not deprived of the reward and merit of remaining seated in that gathering, so that the encouragement of the speaker and the participants is not diminished, and so that others are not incited to leave as well. As for the command regarding not sitting in a gathering of evil, that is clear.
