Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Imam Mubarakpuri rahimahullah, while explaining this blessed hadith, wrote: If a person is conversing with another individual and, during the conversation, he looks to his right and left, then it must be understood from this that he wishes to speak confidentially and wants to keep it hidden from others. Such a conversation will be considered a trust (amanah), and it will be obligatory to keep it secret. Ibn Arslan said: From the speaker’s glancing here and there, it becomes apparent that he fears someone else might overhear his words; he only wants to keep his secret safe with his companion in the gathering. In reality, by looking around, he wants to convey to his addressee that he should listen to his words, consider them a secret and a trust. (Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi)
