Hadith 9432

(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ إِذَا أَحَبَّ عَبْدًا قَالَ لِجِبْرِيلَ إِنِّي أُحِبُّ فُلَانًا فَأَحِبَّهُ فَيَقُولُ جِبْرِيلُ لِأَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ إِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ يُحِبُّ فُلَانًا فَأَحِبُّوهُ قَالَ فَيُحِبُّهُ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ قَالَ وَيُوضَعُ لَهُ الْقَبُولُ فِي الْأَرْضِ قَالَ وَإِذَا أَبْغَضَ فَمِثْلُ ذَلِكَ
(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Indeed, when Allah Almighty loves a servant, He says to Jibreel (Gabriel), peace be upon him: Verily, I love such-and-such a person, so you also love him. Then Jibreel, peace be upon him, says to the inhabitants of the heavens: Verily, your Lord loves such-and-such a person, so you also love him. Thus, the inhabitants of the heavens also begin to love him, and then that person becomes accepted on the earth as well. And when Allah Almighty dislikes a person, the same kind of matter occurs with him.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Reflect that the acceptance or rejection of a Muslim is decided at the Throne (‘Arsh), and then these decisions are made manifest. The person whose deed lacks sincerity (ikhlas), his deed will become a cause of reproach for him, because such a deed is not beloved to Allah Ta‘ala.
