Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I entered Paradise and heard a sound from in front of me. I asked, "What is this sound?" It was said, "This is Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him)." Then I moved forward and saw that most of the people in Paradise were the poor emigrants and the children of the Muslims, and the fewest were the wealthy people and women. Then it was told to me that the wealthy people are still being held accountable at the gate of Paradise and are being further scrutinized. As for the women, the two red things—gold and silk—had distracted them. Then we exited through one of the eight gates of Paradise. When I was at the gate, a scale was brought to me, and I was placed in one pan and my Ummah in the other pan. I outweighed them. Then Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was brought and placed in one pan and the rest of the Ummah in the other; the pan with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) outweighed. Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was brought and placed in one pan and the rest of the Ummah in the other; Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) outweighed. Then each individual of my Ummah was presented, and they kept passing forward. I found Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) slow and lagging behind in this matter. Then, after he had almost lost hope, he came. I said, "Abdur Rahman!" He said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah! May my parents be sacrificed for you. By the One Who sent you with the truth, before reaching you, I began to think that I would never be able to see you, except after a long time." I said, "Why is that?" He said, "Because of the abundance of my wealth, I was being held accountable and further scrutinized."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The virtue of the Muhajirun (Emigrants) is established from other ahadith as well. A hadith similar to the one mentioned above is as follows:

Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Amr radi Allahu anhu narrates that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Do you know which is the first group from my ummah that will enter Paradise?” I said: “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said: “The Muhajirun (Emigrants). They will come on the Day of Resurrection to the gate of Paradise and will seek for it to be opened. The gatekeepers will say to them: ‘Have you already been taken to account?’ They will say: ‘For what matter should we be taken to account? Our swords were upon our shoulders in the path of Allah until we died upon that.’ He said: So the gate will be opened for them, and they will have already taken a nap (qaylulah) therein for forty years before the rest of the people enter it.” (Hakim: 2/70, Shu‘ab al-Iman: 4/28/4260, Sahihah: 853)
