It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was walking in intense heat when the strap of his sandal broke. Then a man came with a strap and put it in the sandal of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you knew the value of the thing upon which you have lifted the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), you would not consider insignificant the thing upon which you have mounted the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The words "lam ya‘lu" are narrated in most manuscripts in this manner; however, in one manuscript, the words are "lam yaghl." Allamah Sindhi said: In my view, it is apparent that these words are in the present tense form, whose meaning is "lam tuqill" (did not consider little), that is, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam regarded this man's deed as great. In some manuscripts, the words are "lam tu‘li" and in some "lam tughli," but the close relevance of these words is not apparent. And Allah knows best.
