Hadith 9238

Sayyiduna Mughira bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would stand (in prayer) for such a long time that his feet would swell. Someone said: O Messenger of Allah! Indeed, Allah Almighty has forgiven your past sins. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: Should I not be a greatly thankful servant?

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This is the manner in which the infallible personality expressed gratitude: due to the abundance of worship, whose feet would become swollen. Whether Allah Ta'ala’s blessing pertains to this world or to religion, it is worthy that gratitude be shown for every blessing.
