Hadith 9224

وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ((الْحَيَاءُ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ وَالْإِيمَانُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَالْبَذَاءُ مِنَ الْجَفَاءِ وَالْجَفَاءُ فِي النَّارِ))
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Modesty is from faith, and faith leads to Paradise; and foul speech and bad language are from harshness and bad character, and harshness leads to the Fire.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In this hadith, where modesty and shyness (haya) are praised and considered a part of faith (iman), there, at the same time, foul speech and bad character are severely condemned.
