It is narrated from Sayyiduna Suraqah bin Malik bin Ju'sham, may Allah be pleased with him, that he went to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while he, peace and blessings be upon him, was suffering from his final illness. He says: I began to ask him, peace and blessings be upon him, questions (and asked so many questions that) I could not remember any more to ask, while he, peace and blessings be upon him, was saying: And remember. Anyway, among the questions I asked him, peace and blessings be upon him, was this: I said: O Messenger of Allah! A lost camel comes to my ponds, while I have filled them for my own camels, so will there be a reward for me in giving it water? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Yes, for giving water to every living being with a moist liver, there is a reward from Allah Almighty.
