عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُدْرِكُ بِحُسْنِ الْخُلُقِ دَرَجَةَ الصَّائِمِ الْقَائِمِ (وَفِي لَفْظٍ) دَرَجَاتِ قَائِمِ اللَّيْلِ صَائِمِ النَّهَارِ
Narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, a person attains the rank of one who stands in prayer at night and fasts during the day through good character.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Whoever adopts good character (husn al-akhlaq) thinks that the easiest deed is to have good character and to interact with people in a pleasant manner. However, the situation is such that the majority of the people of Islam have no awareness whatsoever of the requirements of good character.
