بَابُ التَّرْغِيْبِ فِي اِمَاطَةِ الْأَذَى عَنِ الطَّرِيْقِ وَارْشَادِ الضَّالِChapter on encouragement to remove harm from the road and guide the lost
Hadith 9142

(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَرَّ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ بِجِذْلِ شَوْكٍ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَقَالَ لَأُمِيطَنَّ هَذَا الشَّوْكَ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ أَنْ لَا يَعْقِرَ رَجُلًا مُسْلِمًا قَالَ فَغُفِرَ لَهُ
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: A Muslim man passed by a path on which there was a thorny branch. He said: I will certainly remove these thorns from the path so that no Muslim may be harmed. Because of this, he was forgiven.
