Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Consider the honor given, in the sight of Allah the Exalted and His Messenger, to the very existence of one who outwardly professes Islam. Concealing someone’s faults is not an action in itself, but rather the result of a little patience and controlling the tongue. Yet, alas, the Muslim Ummah is unable to recognize this dignity of a Muslim, and everyone is intent on exposing the faults of others in order to prove themselves as perfect Muslims. What should have happened is that one would keep in view the negative aspects of one’s own self and the positive aspects of others, and then strive to adorn oneself with the positive qualities of others. However, the opposite has proven to be the case: everyone, in the delusion of their own positive traits, has thrown much mud upon the negative aspects of others. This is, of course, a sinful act, but its greater harm is that people have not been given the opportunity for their reformation, and corruption has entered into their temperaments.
