It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We said: O Messenger of Allah! You send us to some regions, and when we come to some people who do not offer us hospitality, what do you say about this? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you come to some people and they order for you something suitable for a guest, then accept that thing, and if they do not do so, then take from them the right of the guest which it was incumbent upon them to fulfill.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Just as the rights of parents and the rights of wife and children are established, so too is the hospitality of a guest a right. For example, when a husband is not fulfilling the legitimate needs of his wife, then the wife has the right to secretly take her due from her husband's wealth; similarly, in the case of a guest, if the host is not fulfilling the guest's right of hospitality, then the guest may take his right from them. This, in fact, is the beauty of Islam: when a person is away from his locality and family, it becomes obligatory upon other Muslims to fulfill the right of hospitality towards him.
