عَنْ سِنَانِ بْنِ سَنَّةَ صَاحِبِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الطَّاعِمُ الشَّاكِرُ لَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِ الصَّائِمِ الصَّابِرِ
The companion of the Messenger, Sayyiduna Sinan bin Sanneh (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: The reward of the grateful eater is like that of the one who fasts and is patient.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … A servant should fulfill the requirements of the Shari‘ah in every circumstance. If he is wealthy and well-off, he should use Allah’s blessings and express gratitude, remaining engaged in obedience to Him. And if he is experiencing hardship and difficulty, he should be patient for the sake of Allah and remain content with His decree. In this way, in both situations, a person becomes deserving of reward and recompense.
