Sayyiduna Salman bin Amir Dhabbi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Giving charity to a poor person earns only the reward of charity, but giving to a relative earns two rewards: one for charity and one for maintaining family ties.
