Hadith 903

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((لَا تَرْقُدَنَّ جُنُبًا حَتَّى تَتَوَضَّأَ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not ever sleep in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah) without performing ablution (wudu).

Benefits: … It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu, he says: "Whenever the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) and intended to eat or sleep, he would perform ablution (wudu)." … When the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was in a state of major ritual impurity and intended to eat food or sleep, he would perform ablution.
