Hadith 9025

Syedna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When the son of Adam dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, or knowledge from which benefit is derived, or a righteous child who prays for him.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … No category of ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah) can be denied, but the goodness that lies in leaving behind righteous children as one’s legacy is unparalleled and incomparable. However, it is regrettable that the Muslims of the present age have fulfilled various rights regarding the advancement of their children, except for righteous upbringing.
