It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muawiyah bin Haydah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! To whom should I do good?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To your mother." I said, "After her, to whom?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To your mother." I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Then to whom?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To your mother." I said, "Then to whom?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then to your father, and then to the nearest of your relatives, and then to those who are next nearest."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Although the father is the provider for the entire family, working hard to fulfill every need of his wife and children, yet the compassionate services that the mother must perform in relation to the child are not hidden from anyone. The hardships of carrying the pregnancy for nine months, the difficult stages of childbirth, providing nourishment to the child from her own breast, fulfilling the rights of care and cleanliness day and night, becoming restless at the child’s discomfort, and finding her own peace in alleviating every kind of distress of the child—at every stage, the mother shows compassion, never considering it a burden. Allahu Akbar. If, in the deep hours of the night, the child demands something, the being who finds her own peace in fulfilling the child’s demand is called a mother.
For this reason, the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has given precedence to the rights of the mother, but this does not mean that the service due to the father should be neglected.
