It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Shall I not inform you about the doors of goodness and virtue? Fasting is a shield, charity wipes out sins just as water extinguishes fire, and a servant standing (in prayer) at night. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: {تَتَجَافٰیجُنُوبُھُمْعَنِالْمَضَاجِعِ … }.
