It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Mu'adh! Do you know what right Allah has over His servants? I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The right is that people worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you know what right the servants have over Allah when they fulfill this? I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The right is that He does not punish them. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Should I not give this glad tidings to the people? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Leave it, so that they may continue to act.
