(Second chain) Sayyida says: I handed a piece of cloth to the Prophet (peace be upon him), but he gestured with his hand that he did not want it. Sulaiman al-A'mash says: I mentioned this hadith to Ibrahim, and he said: That is how it is, and he did not deny it, and further said: There is no harm in using cloth; it is a natural matter.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From these narrations, it is understood that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not use a cloth as a towel, although there is no harm in doing so, as is evident from the following narration.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Urwah radi Allahu anhu, who says: "He had a piece of cloth with which he would dry (his limbs) after ablution (wudu)..." The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had a piece of cloth with which he would dry his limbs after ablution. (Tirmidhi: 1/74, Hakim: 1/154, Bayhaqi: 1/185, Sahihah: 2099) Whether one dries the limbs with a towel or the like after ablution (wudu) or ritual bath (ghusl), or does not do so, has no connection with the increase or decrease of the reward of ablution or ritual bath; this is a natural matter.
